A New Blog

Hi and welcome to my (new) blog! I've decided that it's way past time to start writing again. Instead of sharing my crafts this time, I thought, what better topic than the two things I am most passionate about? Family and disaster preparedness. And so this blog was born.

A little background, for those who need to catch up: I am a single, 44 year old grandmother of five beautiful and wonderful grandchildren....two girls and three boys. The two girls and two oldest boys have been in my custody since March 28, 2014. Let me introduce you to them:

Katie, age 9. Loves anything creative, especially drawing,
making jewelry, papercrafts, and Legos. An awesome big sister.
Aiden, age 6. Loves Spider Man, math, Legos, singing,
and being the class clown. Never a dull moment around this boy.
Brenn, age 2. Nickname Monkey. He jumps & climbs
on EVERYTHING! A sweetheart and terror all in one.

Livvy, age 4. The best hugger in the world! She loves
school, her teachers, playing with babydolls, coloring,
and swinging.

The kiddos and I and our friends like to do a variety of things, and I'll be sharing our adventures, joys, trials, and achievements here. So come join in the fun!

In addition to being Nana (pronounced Nona by my grandkids), I'm also a graduate from Jacksonville State University. I majored in Emergency Management, which some people refer to as disaster preparedness, though it is so much more. Prior to taking custody of the kids, I was a very active member in my local CERT (Community Emergency Response Team). Click HERE if you want to learn more about CERT. While I'm still looking for the perfect career position, that doesn't stop me from sharing my knowledge with others so that they, too, can be prepared for tomorrow. So I will use this blog to share information with you to help you and your family be "disaster ready." I hope that you will subscribe so you don't miss anything!

So that's it....the start of a new journey. Come join us as we Live for Today, Prepare for Tomorrow!
